I am a musician, designer and painter. In addition to my paintings, I've created a series of original digial art works that became posters, postcards, and large glicee prints on canvas, and am in the process of finding a way to integrate those designs into this site. I've released several CDs with two bands, Hazard Factor and Future Perfect, sung on other artists' releases, and I continue to make and record my own music, and sing classical pieces.
I started designing for myself years ago when I was performing with my first band. And after working with computer art and design, I began painting as a way to get more physially in touch with color after working so much in the digital medium.
I am passionate about composition, beauty, symmetry and asymetry, sleek, sometimes stark simplicty, and am absorbed by color. I prefer, and rely on, happy accidents and what springs from improvising and adapting to what is at hand.
I've created a commissioned original recording for Houston choreographer Toni Valle, and an adaptation of George MacDonald's children's classic, At the Back of the North Wind which appeared in 2004's Big Range Dance Festival in Houston, TX . I've worked with New Orleans modern dance company Happensdance as a dancer and musician. I'm from a family of native New Orleanians and artists, and my work, both large abstract acrylics on canvas as well as digital art, has been exhibited in Florida, Oklahoma City, New Orleans and Houston.
